Part-Time Early Childhood Teacher

Our client is looking for fun, nurturing, and energetic Part-Time Early Childhood Teachers to join their premier preschool in Bethesda, MD. This floating support position works throughout the center, assisting classrooms serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. Responsibilities include helping with classroom cleanup and start-of-day and/or end-of-day procedures, supporting teachers with diapering and toileting routines, assisting with coverage during lunch breaks, and providing general classroom support as needed. The ideal candidate is flexible, reliable, and enjoys working with children while helping maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing learning environment.

  • This is a Direct Hire position with the school
  • Part-Time; Monday – Friday; year-round employment

Open Positions

  • Floater Teacher: must be willing to work with children 6 weeks to 5 years old

Schedule

  • Morning: 7:00am to 9:00am or 10:00am
  • Midday: 11:00am to 2:00pm
  • Afternoon: 3:00pm or 4:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Split Shift: A combination of a morning and afternoon shift
  • Monday through Friday availability is required for all shifts!

Salary

  • $17.00 – $19.00/hour pending education, credentials, and professional Early Childhood Education experience

Job Responsibilities
  • Float between classrooms serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, providing support where needed throughout the day
  • Assist teachers with daily classroom routines, including diaper changes, toileting, handwashing, and transitions.
  • Help supervise children during activities, playtime, and snack time while promoting a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Support classroom opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, organizing materials, and resetting classrooms for the next day.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment in accordance with licensing and health guidelines.
  • Provide additional classroom support as needed to ensure smooth daily operations across the center.

Qualifications 

  • REQUIRED Education: High School Diploma 
  • REQUIRED Experience: 1 year of experience working with children in any capacity (babysitting and nannying welcomed!) 
  • PREFERRED Education: Maryland Child Care Aide Certification (the school will also help you to obtain this certification!)
  • PREFERRED Experience: 1 year of experience working with children in an Early Childhood Education facility or in a professional setting
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must meet background check eligibility
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations – for Infant and Toddler classrooms, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
