Our client is looking for an experienced, passionate, and energetic Lead Pre-K Teacher to join their school in Oakland, NJ. The ideal candidate has Pre-K teaching experience and must be willing to work with children 4- to 5-years-old.

  • This is a Direct Hire position with the school
  • Full-Time; Monday – Friday; year-round employment

Salary

$18.00-$21.00 per hour pending education, credentials, and professional Early Childhood Education experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote learning through play and exploration
  • Maintain a structured, organized, and safe classroom environment
  • Supervise and guide assistant teachers and classroom aides
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff
  • Observe, assess, and document children's development and progress
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding children’s development, daily activities, and classroom updates
  • Implement classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior and social development
  • Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations, health, and safety standards
  • Maintain accurate classroom records including attendance, incident reports, and developmental observations
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Preschool Teacher or Lead Teacher in a licensed childcare center
  • Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education or related field required
  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credential preferred
  • Knowledge of Creative Curriculum is a plus
  • Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
  • Must meet background check eligibility
