GA Pre-K lead teachers

A GA Pre-K lead teacher needs a bachelor’s in ECE or an approved field, a bachelor’s in another field plus a Preschool CDA or a TCC in ECE, or a GaPSC T4 or higher certificate in an approved field, all verified in GaPDS. These teachers get hired fast before every school year, so we start Pre-K searches early.

CAPS and Quality Rated

If you serve CAPS families, you have to be Quality Rated unless you qualify for an exemption, and 2-star and 3-star programs earn quarterly Commitment to Quality payments. Credentialed teachers strengthen your portfolio, so we ask candidates about their CDA, TCC and degrees.

The 6- and 18-month clock

DECAL’s licensing rules give a lead teacher without a credential 6 months from hire to enroll in a CDA or TCC program and 18 months from enrollment to finish, tracked on a Professional Learning Plan. Hiring someone who’s already enrolled buys you time, and we note it in our recruiter notes.
