MiRegistry

Every staff member, substitute and unsupervised volunteer needs a MiRegistry account with a verified employment entry for your center within 30 days of hire. We ask candidates to have theirs ready so onboarding doesn’t stall.

GSRP

Starting in 2025-26, PreK for All offers free pre-K to every Michigan 4-year-old regardless of income, so GSRP lead teachers are in demand at community sites as well as schools. They need a Michigan teaching certificate with a ZA, ZS, ZN or ZO endorsement, a bachelor’s in ECE or child development, or an elementary teaching bachelor’s plus a Preschool CDA. We recruit for those leads directly.

Recent rule changes

MiLEAP’s May 2025 licensing updates renamed child care staff members to teachers, updated the qualifications for program administrators, and let one leader manage more than one site. If you run several centers, that changes how you plan who covers each one.
